COMPRESSION SPRING
Insul-Global Compression Springs are from T-304, 316/L Series Stainless Steel conforming to ASTM A-240 standards. They are used to secure insulation over large diameter insulated piping, vessels tanks etc which may be subjected to expansion and contraction. Compression springs can be used with a variety of widths of strapping to a maximum width of 3/4”.
Insul-Global Compression Springs are attached to stainless steel wing seals / clips. The strapping / banding is slipped through the seal and then through the spaced ends of the spring. After the strapping / banding is bent to the back and the wings of the seal / clips are flattened, the strapping / banding is completely extended around the insulated object or to the insulated object until the object is fully covered. Extreme care should be taken to ensure that the stresses are evenly distributed around the insulation.
